‘Martyrs who sacrificed their lives for country’s freedom must be remembered’

August 23, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Bengaluru-based PES University’s senior Scientist Dr. G. Pandurangamurthy has called upon the people to always remember those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the nation.

He was speaking at the 78th Independence Day celebrations at RUDSET Institute at Hinkal on Hunsur Road here recently.

Recalling that great freedom fighter  Sangolli Rayanna had said that ‘this was not the end, it is the beginning as he would come again and again in the form of rebirth until the country gets independence,’ just before he was to be hanged by the British, Pandurangamurthy said that the country got independence the same day Rayanna was born.

Regretting that the society is getting polluted due to corrupt politics, he said that the younger generation should be cautious about this and try to understand the values of sacrifice, selfless service and patriotism.

He also assured that the PES University will join hands with RUDSETI in skill development training and  execution of Science and Technology projects.

Former RUDSETI Executive Officer Jayaram called upon youths to  practise yoga and exercise for building a healthy nation.

RUDSETI former Director D.T. Ramanujam chronicled the growth of RUDSETI with Governmental support over the years.

Calling upon the youths to make best use of available resources, he said that the country’s growth will get a boost if youth power is utilised in the best way.

RUDSETI Director K.S. Savitha delivered the keynote address. Dr. G. Pandurangamurthy was felicitated on the occasion.

Entrepreneur Dayanand Sagar, Ram Nayak, faculty  Yogesh Shirur, Lathamani, Paulraj and others  were present.
