Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji’s 109th Jayanti celebrations on Aug. 25

Mysore/Mysuru: The 109th Jayanti celebrations of the 23rd Pontiff of Sri Veera Simhasana Mahasamstana Mutt, Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji, will be held at Suttur Mutt, Mysuru Branch premises, located at the foot of Chamundi Hill in city on Aug. 25, said JSS Mahavidyapeetha Secretary S.P. Manjunath, here on Thursday.

Addressing the press persons at Sri Rajendra Bhavan, he said that various programmes including aarathi and pushpanjali to the bust of Sri Rajendra Swamiji at 10 am followed by a stage programme at 10.30 am have been organised as a part of the celebrations.

The function will be graced by Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Siddaganga Mutt Seer Sri Siddalinga Swamiji and Muddenahalli Satya Sai Ashram’s Sadguru Madhusudhana Sai. Goa Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai will inaugurate event. Meghalaya Governor C.H. Vijayshankar will preside.

“JSS Mahavidyapeetha, like every year, will donate Rs. One lakh to Mysuru Zoo. This apart, awareness programmes on blood, eye and organ donations will be organised. Fifty percent discount on books published by JSS Publications, distribution of fruits for inpatients, seminars in schools and colleges, distribution of note books, school bags among others have been organised,” he said.

JSS Mahavidyapeetha will also felicitate 63 retired employees, distribute Pratibha Puraskar for meritorious students of SSLC and PUC, prizes to the best annual magazines brought by JSS institutions and winners of monthly essay writing competition.

The Alumni Association of JSS Hostels will also distribute scholarships to talented students residing in the various JSS hostels.

At 4 pm, Muddenahalli Satya Sai Ashram’s Sadguru Madhusudhana Sai will deliver a lecture on ‘Atmanokoshartham Jagath Hithaya Cha’ at Rajendra Centenary Auditorium in JSS Hospital premises.

Univeristy of Mysore former Vice-Chancellor Prof. J. Shashidhara Prasad will release the book ‘Is Charity Essential,’ the English translation of Dr. Sudha Murty-authored Kannada book ‘Dhanasheelathe Agathyave’, ‘Leadership of G20: Opportunities for Bharat’ authored by Tamil Nadu Governor Thiru R.N. Ravi and Association of International Certified Professional Accountants  Chair Anoop N. Mehta’s ‘Tomorrow’s India Begins Today: Leveraging Accountability For ESG.’

Regional Commissioner D.S. Ramesh will preside.
