Mysuru: Apurva Chandra, IAS, Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare inaugurated the newly built Patient Accommodation Block ‘Kuteera’ at AIISH Panchavati Campus recently.

L.S. Changsan, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, was the guest of honour. Prof. M. Pushpavathi, Director, AIISH and Prof. Ajish K. Abraham, Dean-Infrastructure were present.

‘Kuteera’ is spread over four floors. Ground, first and second floors together houses 31 double rooms and 3 dormitories. Each dormitory accommodates 15 beds, bringing the total capacity of the ‘Kuteera’ to 107 patients.

The stilt floor is reserved for parking, with space for 14 four-wheelers and 50 two-wheelers. The stilt floor also houses a common cloth washing facility. Additionally, the ground floor houses a common kitchen and dining hall, while the first and second floors include recreation rooms.

The building is disabled-friendly, with measures in place to ensure the security of children with disabilities.

This new facility, offering accommodation at a nominal cost, will serve as a refuge for patients from lower economic strata visiting AIISH from far off places. Many of these patients will have to stay for a few days to complete their testing and initiate treatment.

The new addition to the institute’s infrastructure will be helpful to those needy patients.

National Project Construction Corporation Ltd, served as the Project Management Consultants, to setup this infrastructure at AIISH.
