Mysuru: G. Sanjay, a student of JSS High School in Siddarthanagar, has won a gold medal in the 48-kg Freestyle wrestling at the District-level Wrestling Tournament organised by Department of Public Instruction, here recently. He has been selected to take part in the State-level Tournament to be held later in the year.

Sanjay is the son of Girish and Shobha couple, street vendors and residents of Kyathamaranahalli. He is being trained at Chamundi Wrestling Academy in Nazarbad. Sanjay’s talent was identified by school Physical Education teacher Nagendra who encouraged him to participate in the wrestling tournament organised by the Department.
