Retired lecturer’s house burgled

Mysuru: Burglars, using duplicate keys, broke into the house of a retired lecturer on Belavadi Road in Panchacharya Layout in Vijayanagar Police Station limits and have decamped with gold ornaments and cash from the house.

The burglary took place at the house of retired lecturer M. Chandrashekar.

Chandrashekar has two daughters, one residing in Bengaluru and the other in Chikkamagaluru. On Aug. 17, Chandrashekar and his wife left to Shivamogga to attend the house warming ceremony of a relative and then went to their daughter’s house in Chikkamagaluru.

When the couple returned to their house in city on Aug. 30 evening, they found the front door open and on entering the house they found the house ransacked and about 77 grams gold ornaments and Rs. 5,000 cash kept in the cupboard stolen. Vijayanagar Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
