Rs. 25.75 lakh valuables recovered

Mysuru: In separate cases, Mandi and Hebbal Police have arrested three house burglars and have recovered valuables worth Rs. 25.75 lakh from them.

On June 13, a complaint pertaining to house burglary at Bamboo Bazar was lodged at Mandi Police Station. Burglars had decamped with about 35 grams gold jewellery from the house following which a Police team was formed to nab the burglars.

On Aug. 27, the Police team nabbed two accused and subjected them to interrogation during which the Police came to know that the accused were involved in five burglary cases in Mandi, Devaraja, Vidyaranyapuram, Srirangapatna Town and Tumakuru Rural Police limits and two vehicle lifting cases in Tunganagar in Shivamogga district and Peresandra Police limits in Chikkaballapur district. Also, investigation is being undertaken on a Police staff for helping the accused sell the stolen                                                       gold jewellery.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered 356 grams gold jewellery besides seizing two cars, all worth Rs. 24.25 lakh from them.

DCPs M. Muthuraj (Law and Order) and S. Jahnavi (Crime and Traffic) guided Narasimharaja Sub-Division ACP Ashwathnarayan, Mandi Inspector S. Nagesh, Sub-Inspectors Rangaswamy and Revanasiddappa, ASI Subhash Chandra and staff Rajendra, Manikanta, Veeresh, Devaraju, Khayum Pasha, Premkumar, Ravi, Kiran and Technical Wing’s Kumar in the nabbing and recovery operation.

In the second case, Hebbal Police have arrested one burglar on charges of stealing gold ornaments & silver articles from a house at Lakshmikanthanagar and have recovered 15 grams gold jewellery and 1 kg silver items all worth Rs. 1.50 lakh from him.

DCP S. Jahnavi and Vijayanagar Sub-Division ACP Gajendra Prasad guided Hebbal Inspector Mallesh, Sub-Inspectors Keerthi and Praveen, ASI R.T. Ganesh and staff Swamaradhya, Subhanallah, Bhaladhara, Tilak Kumar, Mohan Kumar, Annappa Devaadiga and Technical wing’s Kumar in the nabbing and recovery operation.
