Recently, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) replaced a misleading direction board near St. Joseph’s School, at the junction of Temple Road and Hunsur Road. Unfortunately, the new board is just as misleading!

The board indicates that going straight leads to Bilikere and Hunsur, while a right turn is marked as leading to Madikeri, K.R. Nagar and Hassan via Hunsur. However, all of these destinations are 30 to 100 kilometres away from this junction.

Additionally, immediately to the right of this junction is Gokulam Road, followed by Vijayanagar. The inclusion of these distant locations on the board creates confusion and lacks practical relevance for local navigation. This misalignment could easily cause visitors to lose their way.

It is crucial for MCC to review and correct this signage to provide accurate and useful information for road users, especially with Dasara approaching, when many tourists could be misled.
