Newspaper distributor killed in accident

Mysuru: In a tragic incident, a 38-year-old newspaper distributor was killed on the spot, when the motorbike he was riding was hit from behind by a Tipper Lorry near Unnatinagar on Ring Road yesterday evening.

Manjunath (38), a resident of Udayagiri, is the deceased.

Manjunath, who was also a member of Newspaper Distributors Welfare Association, was travelling on his bike on the Ring Road from Royal Inn Junction on KRS Road towards Manipal Hospital  Junction on Mysuru-Bengaluru Road at about 6.45 pm on Friday evening, when he was fatally knocked down by a speeding Tipper Lorry (KA-09 B- 6490) from behind near Unnatinagar.

N.R. Traffic Police conducted mahazar and registered a case.

As tragedy would have had it, the deceased Manjunath was the sole bread winner of his extended family of eight members, after he lost his elder brother last year. Manjunath leaves behind his aged and ailing mother, wife, children and other family members, it is learnt.
