Mysuru: Over 150 vintage Jawa bikes vroomed on the city roads as part of the Jawa Bike Rally organised by the Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage, as part of Dasara-2024 in city.
The bike rally was organised with an aim of showcasing various heritage buildings across the city.
The bike rally was flagged off at Town Hall premises by Commissioner of the Archaeology, Museums and Heritage Department Devaraju and Director of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS) Bhopal, Amit Pandey.
Veteran Jawa bike owners and riders Gladstone Wilson, Athaulla Khan, Subramanya, Manjunath, Balakrishna and Dr. Raveen Chennappa were felicitated on the occasion.
The rally passed through Silver Jubilee Clock Tower, Chamarajendra Circle, K.R. Circle, Lansdowne Building, Jaganmohan Palace, MCC building, CADA Office Building, Gun House, Hardinge Circle, Kuppanna Park, old Band Bungalow Building, Lalitha Mahal Road, KSRP building, Lalitha Mahal Palace, Postal Training Centre, Vasanth Mahal building and culminated at the Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage office located in Dasara Exhibition Grounds, opposite Jayamarthanda gate of Mysore Palace.
