Karnatak Solo Violin Concert

Mysuru: Vid. Kushal Boddupalli, earlier a child prodigy and now a highly talented young performing artiste, from Bengaluru, will be presenting a Karnatak Solo Violin  Concert at the heritage house of Mysore K. Vasudevacharya near Agrahara in Mysuru on Sunday (Oct. 20).

He will be accompanied by Vid. M.R. Manjunath on mridanga and Vid. M.J. Kiran Jayaram on ghata.  The concert, starting at 10.30 am, is open to all music enthusiasts. For details, contact Mob: 98802-55920.

Artistes’ Profiles

Vid. Kushal is a disciple of Violin Maestro Vid. T.H. Subramaniam and is being trained in vocal by Vid. Vijaya Siva. He has also learnt under the tutelage of Vid. Kumaresh and Sri Akella Mallikarjuna Sharma. Kushal gave his first stage performance when he was just 8 years, in the year 2018. Then on, the wonder boy, a 9th standard student at Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra (RVK), Bengaluru, has performed many concerts, including those at Thiruvayyaru Tyagaraja Aradhana, Marghazhi utsava in Chennai and Chembai Sangeethothsavam, in Guruvayur. He has accompanied leading artistes too in concerts.

Mridangist Vid. M.R. Manjunath is a senior artiste from the city, with a stage experience of over four decades. Vid. Kiran, son and disciple of Vid. M.S. Jayaram, has years of performing experience behind him.

Both Manjunath and Kiran hail from a well-known family of artistes from Mysuru covering four generations and having contributed significantly to the growth of the art form in this region.
