Mysuru: Venitha Lobo, Office Superintendent at St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru, has bagged 2nd prize in Dasara Home Garden Competition-2024, under Ornamental and Lawn Garden Category (Medium), conducted by the Horticulture Department, Mysuru.

She has participated for the 10th consecutive year and has been awarded 1st or 2nd prizes all along. She derived this creative hobby from her mother, her maternal uncle, aunts & cousins.

She has developed her garden in an aesthetic sense which gives positive vibes to one and all. The concept she has adopted in her garden includes a beautiful landscaped lawn with lotus pond, water plants & a deep pond with fish, a swan & a mermaid.

Secondly, she has adopted a vertical garden concept too, with metal pot stands, where varieties of ornamental, flowering plants & succulents are artistically arranged. Next, is a mesh pergola where varieties of hanging plants are hung & within the pergola is a Cauvery Statue fountain.
