Mysuru: Articles such as copper wires, laptops and other things worth about Rs. 15.57 lakh were stolen during Dasara holidays between Oct. 10 and Oct. 13 from a factory in Hootagalli Industrial Area in city.
The theft took place at the factory which manufactures Transformers and Inductors and the factory owner has lodged a complaint at Vijayanagar Police Station.
After performing Ayudha Puja on Oct. 10, the factory had declared holidays till Oct. 13. When the staff reopened the factory on Oct. 14 at about 9.30 am and went inside, they found the box in which the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) of CCTV cameras and data storage unit was kept open. On closer look they found both the equipment missing.
Sensing something fishy, they went around inspecting the factory during which they found the lock of the godown broken and 1,500 kgs of copper wire worth Rs. 14 lakh, lead wires, plastic bins, three laptops kept in the Office, CPU, server unit, DSLR camera and other things all worth Rs. 15.57 lakh stolen.
Vijayanagar Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
