Rider killed, pillion rider injured as van hits bike

Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider died at a hospital while the pillion rider suffered injuries following a road accident in Varuna Police limits yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as B. Lokesh (48), son of Basavarajappa of Benakanahalli village in T. Narasipur taluk. The injured is Nagaraju, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in city.

Lokesh, who runs Priyadarshini Enterprises in T. Narasipur town, had come to Mysuru along with his friend Nagaraju on a work. They were returning to their native on their bike when a passenger van hit the bike near Mosambayanahalli village injuring both the riders.

Though both the injured were admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru, Lokesh succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

Varuna Police Sub-Inspector Chethan said that they have registered a case and further action has been initiated.
