S.S. Gayathri Memorial Theatre Festival from Oct. 20 to 22

Mysuru: Mysuru Jilla Rangabhoomi Vruthi Kalavideyara Sangha has organised S.S. Gayathri Memorial Theatre Festival from Oct. 20 to 22 at Town Hall in city, as part of its 35th anniversary celebrations, in association with Kannada and Culture Department.

MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar will inaugurate the fest on Oct. 20 at 11.30 am. MLAs G.T. Devegowda and T.S. Srivatsa, Ilai Alwar Swamiji of Vangipura Mutt, Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture Department Dr. M.D. Sudarshan, former Corporators M.V. Ramprasad and Sowbhagya Murthy and senior theatre person K.M. Girijamma from Bengaluru will be the chief guests.

Thirty-five senior and junior harmonium masters will be conferred theatre honour, during the stage events daily at 11.30 am.

Mallikarjunaswamy, President of State Sugarcane Growers Association Kurbur Shanthakumar, film producer Srinivas, social worker Bandipalya Girish, Registrar of Karnataka Nataka Academy Nirmala Mathapati, former President of Taluk Panchayat Manjula Manjunath, former Corporator S.B.M. Manju, social worker Raghuram Vajpayee, President of Bharat Ratna Dr. M. Vishweshwaraiah House Building Co-operative Society Ltd., S. Ashokkumar, senior theatre artiste Pushparani Munivenkatappa of Bengaluru and Chartered Accountant S.N. Srinivas will be present during the stage programmes.

Schedule of plays

Oct. 20: Staging of mythological play ‘Sri Krishnaleele’ by the child artistes of Jalavasudeva Nataka Sabha Trust at 1 pm.

Oct.21: Staging of ‘Mohini Bhasmasura’  by Sri Shivakrupa Samskruthika Vedike at 1 pm.

Oct.22: Staging of Prakash Kadapatti’s social drama ‘Chinnada Gombe’, by the artistes of Gayatri Kala Vrunda at 1 pm.
