Renowned Bharatanatyam dancers from Mysuru — Vidushi Jyothi N. Hegde, Director of Lasyaranjana Nrutya Shale and Vidushi Prasannalakshmi, Director of Sri Nritya Nikethana — along with their students (Sanika, Bharani, Srivalli, Navya and Thushara Yadav), are touring Malaysia, especially with a performance scheduled at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indian Cultural Centre, Kuala Lumpur, on Nov. 5 (International Cultural Fest-2024).
This cultural programme is organised by Guru M.C. Sujendra Babu, a Member of World Dance Alliance.
Also, Veena Vidushi from Mysuru, Ashwini Nagendra, will be presenting Veena recital at Kuala Lumpur event on Nov. 5. She will be playing Veena for the song ‘Hacchevu Kannadada Deepa.’ She is representing Kalpashree Performing Arts Centre Trust, Channapatna.
Ashwini Nagendra was trained under Veena artiste R.K. Raghavan of Mysuru. She has given Veena concerts at various places including Hassan, Belur, Ujjire, Rane Bennur, Bengaluru, Koppal, Puttaraja Gawai Ashram in Gadag and Dasara Cultural Programme.
She is a recipient of Kittur Rani Chennamma Award given by Sri Sarvejana Arts and Cultural Trust at Ballari, ‘Gadinada Ratna’ award given by Karnataka Border Area Development Authority, Bengaluru, ‘Vishwaguru Sadbhavana Award’ given by Kannada Naada Seva Kendra, Davanagere and ‘Adarsha Mahile’ award given by Rotary Club, Chamarajanagar.
