Mysuru: The Mysuru District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has imposed fine on the owner of ‘Travel Comfort,’ a travel agency located in Gokulam here, for not providing facilities to the clients, who had gone on a tour through the travel agency.

Shreyas Chandrashekar and his wife, residents of Vijayanagar, had gone on a package tour through ‘Travel Comfort’ Proprietor Kiran Shetty, also a travel agent. But during the tour, the travel agent failed to provide proper facilities to Shreyas couple resulting in the couple facing mental torture.

Accusing the travel agent of not providing proper facilities, the couple lodged a complaint with the Mysuru District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum against Kiran Shetty seeking reimbursement of Rs. 2,53,000, medical expense of Rs. 25,612 and Rs. 2 lakh compensation.

The Mysuru District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum. which took up the case, conducted an inquiry and ordered Kiran Shetty to reimburse the money along with Rs. 1,29,000 interest, Rs. 50,000 compensation and case expense of Rs. 10,000 to Shreyas Chandrashekar.
