Mysuru: In separate cases, two houses have been burgled in Yelwal and Vijayanagar Police limits.

In the first case, burglars who broke into a house at Yelwal, have decamped with cash and gold jewellery worth Rs. 2.87 lakh from the house.

The burglary took place at the house of Ram Mohan at Madagalli village, Yelwal hobli and according to the Police, burglars, who were aware where the house keys were kept, had gained entry into a house belonging to Ram Mohan and had made away with Rs. 2.55 lakh cash and eight-gram gold earring worth Rs. 32,000.

The incident occurred when Ram Mohan, a fruit merchant, had left to the market on Sunday morning. His wife had been to a relative’s house in the neighbouring town and his daughter had locked the house and kept keys in the bathroom.

Ram Mohan, who had stayed overnight at his sister’s house, returned to Yelwal on Monday morning and opened the main door of the house only to find the household items scattered all around the house.

On checking the room, he found the doors of the almirahs forcibly opened and cash and gold ornaments missing. 

He later lodged a complaint with Yelwal Police, who have registered a case in this regard and are investigating.

In the second case, cash and gold pendent worth Rs. 90,000 has been stolen from a house in Vijayanagar 4th Stage.

The burglary took place at the house of Vishwanath on the 2nd Main Road in Vijayanagar                           4th Stage.

According to the Police, Vishwanath and his wife Kalashree had gone to Bengaluru on Nov. 15. While Vishwanath stayed back in Bengaluru, Kalashree returned to Mysuru on Nov. 18.

When she opened the door of the house, she found Rs. 50,000 cash and a gold pendent worth Rs. 40,000 missing.

Miscreants had broken open the window lock to unlock the door to gain entry into the house, gained entry into the rooms and had made away with cash and gold pendent kept in the almirah.

Vijayanagar Police, based on Kalashree’s complaint, registered a case in this regard and are investigating.
