MDJA to conduct mega health camp tomorrow

Mysuru: Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) has organised a mega health check-up camp tomorrow (Nov.29) at its premises on Tyagaraja Road for journalists, staff of media houses, newspaper boys and their  family members.

Addressing a press meet, MDJA President K. Deepak said that the camp is organised in association with Government Ayurveda Research Centre, JSS Institute of Dental Sciences, Annapurna Eye Hospital, Arya Hospital, Bharat Cancer Hospital,  Atrimed Pharmaceuticals, Arogya Bharati, Vande Wellness Centre and Sagar Pharmaceuticals, Bengaluru.

Over 60 doctors and health staff will be participating in the camp and medicines worth about Rs. 10 lakh will be distributed.

Sri Avadhoota Arjun Guruji will be inaugurating the camp at 10 am at MDJA premises. MLAs K. Harishgowda and T.S. Srivatsa, MLC Dr. D. Thimmaiah, GSS Foundation’s Srihari, Assistant Director of Government Ayurveda Research Centre Dr. L.N. Shenoy and Founder of Chutuku Sahitya Parishat Dr. M.G.R. Urs will be the chief guests.

Neurologist Dr. Shushrutha Gowda, who also spoke, said that of late, the death due to illness among people in the age group of 35 to 40 are being reported. The change in lifestyle is the reason behind heart-related ailments, paralysis, blood pressure, diabetes among other diseases. Hence, it would be better to take precautions by participating in the health check-up camp.

Srihari of GSS Maadhyama announced Rs. 1 lakh every year to MDJA for the emergency medical expenses of journalists.

Dr. Guru Basavaraj, Dr. Antony Paul, Dr. Chandrashekar, Dr. Shenoy and MDJA General Secretary Dharmapura Narayana were present at the press meet.
