Mysuru, Dec. 3 – Prof. Raghavendra Bhatta (87), a resident of Saraswathipuram 12th Main, passed away this morning in city.

A retired Professor of Kannada from the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), he was very well versed in Kannada and English literature and had great expertise in copy editing. A voracious reader, he was a great music lover and never missed music concerts. He was a close associate of Prof. G.T. Narayana Rao and his contribution in establishing Ganabharathi, a prestigious Music Sabha in city, is well-known.

He leaves behind two daughters, granddaughters and a host of relatives and friends.

His body will be donated to JSS Hospital on Dec. 5, according to family sources.
