Mysuru: Historian Prof. P.V. Nanjaraj Urs, who spoke on the life of Tipu Sultan, was felicitated during Tipu Jayanti, organised by Afroz Pasha, Secretary of Hazarath Tipu Sultan Shaheed Welfare & Urus Committee, Lashkar Mohalla, near Tipu Tomb, Ganjam in Sriranrapatna recently.

Tipu Jayanti was held under the guidance of MLA Tanveer Sait, who is also the Chairman of Tipu Sultan Wakf Estate Development Committee. Hazarath Moulana Mohammed Inayath-ur-Rehaman Razvi, Shahi Imam of Masjid Aqsa, Srirangapatna, performed Fatha Khawni, offered floral tribute, spread the flower mat on the shrine of Tipu Sultan and his parents. Khwaja Mohammed Musheer Chishti was present on the occasion.

Advocate M.S. Mukhram, who is also the President of Tipu Sultan Urus & Welfare Committee, M.F. Kaleem, Majeed Ahmed, Member of DCC, Iqbal Pasha, Vice-President of Tipu Wakf Estate Development Committee and others were felicitated by Afroz Pasha by presenting a memento, Mysuru Peta and garland.

Mukhram and Kaleem also spoke on Tipu Sultan.
