Clear confusions over e-Swathu, e-Khata: Ex-Mayor

December 18, 2024

Mysuru: Former Mayor B.L. Bhyrappa has urged the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) to clear the prevailing confusions over e-Swathu and e-Khata.

Addressing media persons at Patrakarthara Bhavan in the city on Monday, Bhyrappa said, MCC is yet to clarify over the type of properties that are being given e-Swathu and e-Khata. Owing to the lack of appropriate documents for the properties at Ashokapuram, Sunnadakeri and other localities, the property owners are forced to run from pillar to post at Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office. How can MCC issue e-Swathu and e-Khata to such properties, asked Bhyrappa.

The ghettos in the city are devoid of appropriate documents, lacking in clarity in the ownership of such properties. What would be the plight of common people in such cases? The officials should plan a drive to document such properties, demanded Bhyrappa.

Former Mayor R. Purushotham said, there are 73 illegal residential layouts in the city. The MCC which is collecting property tax from such layouts should resort to address their issues. Deputy Commissioner should convene a public meeting and redress the grievances of the people.

Former Corporators K.V. Mallesh and Vasu were present at the press meet.
