Golden Jubilee of Old Boys’ Association and Global Alumni Meet at RK Vidyashala

Three-day event from tomorrow to coincide with 72nd College Day celebrations

Mysuru: The Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Old Boys’ Association and Global Meet of the Alumni along with 72nd College Day Celebration of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala (RK Vidyashala) will be held at the Vidyashala premises in Yadavagiri from Dec. 20 to 22.

December 20 (Friday)

9 am to 12.45 pm – Session-1 at Ramakrishna Institute of Moral & Spiritual Education (RIMSE), Mysuru: Spiritual Retreat – Introductory Speech by Swami Muktidanandaji, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, Mysuru and Trustee, Ramakrishna Mutt & Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Mutt; Speeches by Swami Nityasthanandaji, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Math, Bengaluru, Swami Maheshatmanandaji, Ramakrishna Math, Bhubaneshwar, Swami Atmashraddhanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Kanpur and Swami Mahamedhanandaji, Correspondent, RIMSE; Bhajans by Viveka Hamsa Balaga,               Bengaluru.

3 pm to 6 pm – Session 2 at Open Air Theatre: Inauguration of Golden Jubilee Celebration of The Old Boys’ Association and Global Meet of the Alumni. Padma Vibhushan Dr. V.K. Aatre, former Head of Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), will be the chief guest. Tejasvi Surya, MP and President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, will be the guest of honour.

The session will also feature Bhajan, release of Golden Jubilee Souvenir, release of Special Postal Cover & My Stamp, speeches by Swami Dayamurtyanandaji (Alumnus, Batch: 1985-90), Swami Punyeshwaranandaji (Alumnus, Batch: 1994-99), Keerthi Kumar, former Principal, Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala (SRKVS), Alumni of SRKVS & other institutions of RK Order and Swami Satyeshanandaji (Alumnus, Batch: 1979-81), Asst. General Secretary, Ramakrishna Mutt & Mission, Belur Mutt and benedictory address by Swami Muktidanandaji.

7 pm to 10 pm – Session 3 at Vidyashala Stadium: ‘Swara Taranga’ (a musical performance) by Sunil Gujagonda, Aishwarya Rangarajan, Jaskaran Singh, Pruthvi Bhat, playback singers of    SaReGaMaPa fame.

December 21 (Saturday)

8.45 am to 12.45 pm – Session-1 – Honouring Monks at Open Air Theatre, Bhajans at Prayer Hall, Master Classes at Classrooms, Meet and Greet – The Monks & Teachers at Parents’ lounge and Guided Tour of Vidyashala for family members of alumni.

2.30 pm to 4 pm – Session-2: Panel Discussion by Alumni at Open Air Theatre.

5 pm to 6.10 pm – Session-3: 72nd College Day – Field Display at Vidyashala Stadium. 

Capt. G.R. Gopinath, Entrepreneur and Founder of Air Deccan & Rajyotsava Awardee, will be the chief guest.

6.40 pm to 9.30 pm – Session-4: 72nd College Day Celebration at Open Air Theatre. Padma Vibhushan Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala & MP, will be the chief guest.

The session will also feature cultural programmes like Bhajan, Group Song, Group Dance and staging of Kannada play ‘Nityavinutana Sri Rama.’

December 22 (Sunday)

8.30 am to 10 am: Visit to Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre – Viveka Smaraka

– Bhajans by students.

10.30 am to 11.30 am: Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi Jayanti at Sri Ramakrishna Ashram.

11.45 am to 12.45 pm: Honouring the staff of Vidyashala at the Open Air Theatre.

2.30 pm to 5 pm: Valedictory of Golden Jubilee and AGM of Old Boys’ Association at Open Air Theatre.

G. Kumar Naik (Alumnus of Batch: 1976-79), MP and former Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka, will be the chief guest.

The event will feature election of office-bearers, speech by Swami Yukteshananda, Correspondent, SRKVS, speech by Alumni, speech by T.K. Chandrasekhar, Principal, SRKVS, group song by staff of SRKVS, benedictory address by Swami Muktidanandaji, presentation of accounts and musical event by alumni.
