Sir,
I have been residing in Bogadi since 2004 and have personally witnessed the civic development that has taken place over the years. One of the best features of this area is its well-connected and wide roads, stretching from the southern part of the city to the northern part, eventually leading to the Ring Road junction.
The presence of various commercial establishments on both sides of the main road reflects the thriving real estate sector and the increasing population density.
However, the traffic along the main road and the crossroads leading into the inner residential layouts and extensions on either side has become a significant concern, causing severe chaos. Drivers and pedestrians alike often experience a sense of insecurity due to the lack of proper infrastructure and regulation.
Bogadi Main Road has grown to become one of the most critical thoroughfares, providing long connectivity between the two ends of Mysuru. Consequently, the traffic volume remains high throughout the day.
Regrettably, there is no traffic discipline due to the absence of traffic signal posts at key points such as the ‘Harsha Bar Junction’ and the ‘Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt Cross.’ After the traffic signal post near the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, there are no signal posts until the Ring Road.
This stretch consistently witnesses heavy traffic of all kinds, leading to frequent accidents resulting in injuries and fatalities.
Adding to the concern, the streetlights are installed only on one side of the road, leaving the other side in darkness. This lack of adequate lighting poses a grave danger, increasing the risk of accidents.
I sincerely request the concerned authorities to install traffic signal posts at the two crucial points mentioned — Harsha Bar Junction and Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt/College/School Junction. This will help regulate traffic, ensure disciplined and safe movement, and alleviate the ongoing congestion.
