Mysuru: Miscreants have allegedly murdered a JD(S) leader by slitting his throat yesterday evening.

The deceased is Hanumanthu (57), a resident of Belavatta in city.

Yesterday at about 6.30 pm, Hanumanthu was proceeding towards Belavatta from the Outer Ring Road, when two persons on a bike hit Hanumanthu’s bike making him fall. As soon as Hanumanthu fell on the road, the assailants slit his throat with a sharp weapon and fled from the spot. It is suspected that an old feud pertaining to a land deal had led to the murder.

Metagalli Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to  MMC&RI mortuary.

Based on the complaint from Hanumanthu’s family members, Metagalli Police who have registered a case are investigating.
