Mysuru: First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against over 13 persons including four women at Metagalli Police Station in the alleged murder of JD(S) leader Hanumanthu on Monday evening. He was brutally murdered on the road when he was proceeding on his bike towards his house in Belavatta.
Following a complaint from Hanumanthu’s wife, Metagalli Police, who had registered a case, are said to have interrogated a few persons in this regard.
On Sunday evening, Hanumanthu was proceeding on his bike from the Outer Ring Road towards his house, when he was brutally murdered. Two persons on a bike, who were following Hanumanthu, hit his bike on the road leading to Belavatta from the Ring Road and when Hanumanthu fell from the bike, the bike-borne miscreants allegedly slit his throat and had fled from the spot. It is learnt that a dispute over a land had resulted in a fight between Hanumanthu and a few persons last month and it is suspected that the same persons may have murdered Hanumanthu as an act of revenge.
