Reality stars take audience on musical journey at Palace

Cultural programmes draw to a close; Flower Show till Dec. 31

Mysuru: The last day of the cultural programmes at Mysore Palace premises organised as part of the ongoing Palace Flower Show featured the star singers of the reality shows rendering some of the popular movie songs and exponents of Karnatak classical music rendering some of the compositions, both vocal and instrumental.

Singers of Kannada reality show Darshan Narayan, Aishwarya Rangarajan, Sunil Gujagoda, Vasushree Halemane and Jnana Gururaj rendered songs which enthralled the audience.

Darshan started the concert with the song ‘Gajavadana Heramba,’ a popular theatre song written by Girish Karnad and composed by B.V. Karanth. Later, Jnana Gururaj took the audience on devotional journey with the song ‘Savirada Sharanu’ from the movie ‘Ganayogi Panchakshara Gawai.’

Sunil Gujagoda presented the song ‘Neene Rama Neene Shyama’ from the movie ‘Mukunda Murari’ followed by Aishwarya Rangarajan who rendered the song ‘Namaami Namaami’ which she had recorded for the movie ‘Kabzaa’.

Later, folk devotional song ‘Yelli Kane Yelli Kane Yellavva Thayi’,  ‘Naguva Nayana Madhura Mauna’ from ‘Pallavi Anupallavi’ where thoroughly enjoyed by the audience present.

‘Sangeetha Vidwan’ Dr. C.A. Sridhar and his son & disciple Vid. C.S. Keshav Chandra presenting a Flute Duet at Palace premises yesterday. They are accompanied by Vid. Keshav Mohankumar on violin, Vid. H.L. Shivashankar Swamy on mridanga and Vid. Raghunandan on ghata.

Earlier, ‘Sangeetha Vidwan’ Dr. C.A. Sridhar and his son and disciple Vid. C.S. Keshav Chandra presented a flute duet which included the compositions of Jayachamaraja Wadiyar much to the delight of the music lovers.  They were accompanied by Vid. Keshav Mohankumar on violin, Vid. H.L. Shivashankar Swamy on mridanga and Vid. Raghunandan on ghata.

The classical vocal recital by Nahar Gurudutta and team also mesmerised the audience.
