N.S. Basavaraju (88), retired Superintendent of Police (SP) and a resident of Siddarthanagar, passed away this morning. He leaves behind his wife, one son, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends.

Basavaraju, President of Akkamahadevi Free Hostel for Women and former Trustee of Marimallappa’s Institutions, was also the former President of Mysuru Division Veerashaiva Mahasabha, Sri Basaveshwara Housing Co-Operative Society Ltd. and Kabhahally Hostel. He was also the recipient of the President’s Award.

Last rites will be performed at 11 am tomorrow (Jan. 9) at his native place Hebya village in Nanjangud.
