The Orchids Public School and PU College

The Annual Day of The Orchids Public School and PU College, Bogadi-Gaddige Road, Kumarabeedu with the theme ‘Rhythm of Life,’ was held at Kalamandira in city.

Padma Shri B. Manjamma Jogathi, a renowned transgender activist and cultural ambassador, was the chief guest. Amma Ramachandra, a popular folk artiste, was the guest of honour.

The event kicked off with a vibrant display of cultural performances by the students, including traditional dances that showcased India’s rich heritage. The Annual Day celebrations also featured a moment of pride as students were honoured for their outstanding achievements. Class toppers from the previous year were recognised with awards and special accolades —  Cultural Icon, Sports Icon, Ardent Reader and Tech Whiz were presented to deserving students.

The highlight of the event was the Best Student Award given to Grade 10 student and the same was bestowed upon S. Sinchana while the Best Outgoing Student Award for 2nd PU student was given to Harini. Both students received a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 each.

The event continued with a Yakshagana and a drama on Tarakasura Vadhe, highlighting cultural values and the theme of the day.

The Annual Day celebrations concluded with a dazzling performance by the teachers and the staff of the institution.

GSSS School & PU College

GSSS School & PU College, Siddarthanagar, celebrated the Annual Day at its premises in city recently. The Lower Primary School section paid tribute to the Heroes of Karnataka, individuals who have made significant  contributions to the State’s progress and heritage.

The Higher Primary School section took a unique approach, celebrating the often-overlooked support heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes. From teachers and parents to healthcare workers and community volunteers, scientist and sports personnel, farmers and soldiers, these individuals play a crucial role in shaping our society.

The High School students presented a thought-provoking performance that explored the intricate relationship between success and failure. They showcased how both experiences are integral to personal  growth and learning.

GSSS Secretary Anupama B. Pandit, Member & CEO R.K. Bharath, Member & Co-ordinator B.K. Nataraj, College Principal Shahida Banu, School Principal S.R. Hemalatha, teaching and non-teaching staff were present.

St. Thomas Institutions

St. Thomas Institutions, under the Mar Thoma Education Society, celebrated the 60th Annual Day, Vasanthotsav-2024 at its campus in Vishweswaranagar recently.

The event was presided over by Rev. Shaiju P. John, Manager of St. Thomas Institutions, Mysuru. The chief guest for the occasion was Rt. Rev. Dr. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa, Bishop of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church, Chennai-Bangalore Diocese and President of Mar Thoma Education Society, Mysuru.

The major highlights of the day were release of the school magazine, distribution of prizes, felicitation, Institution report which was followed by the vibrant cultural programme featuring traditional and contemporary performances by students that showcased their talent and creativity.

The cultural programme started off with a welcome dance followed by the Christmas Nativity, Natures Ballet, Christmas Carols, Isis Wings Dance, Mime Show and Semi Classical Dance.

Another attraction of the event was William Shakespeare’s play ‘The Merchant of Venice.’

The event concluded with a thanksgiving song.

De Paul International Residential School

De Paul International Residential School, Belagola, Srirangapatna taluk, celebrated its 22nd Annual Day recently. The event began with a ceremonious opening, graced by the chief guest, Prakash Raj, renowned pan-lingual actor, social activist and conservationist.

Distinguished dignitaries included the President, Rev. Fr. Sebastian Vettickal CM, Assistant Provincial of the Southern Indian Province of the Congregation of the Mission, Special guests and alumni, Nihal Joel and Sub. Lt. Adithya Singh, Rev. Fr. Anish Xavier CM, Principal of De Paul International Residential School; Rev. Fr. Santoy Kurian CM, Campus Superior and Financial Administrator; and Rev. Fr. Baiju Antony CM, Principal of De Paul College, all of whom set the tone for an inspiring evening.

The theme, “Mmekorita – Ties that Bind Us,” came alive through a vibrant dance drama that beautifully symbolised the importance of relationships. A kaleidoscope of student performances transcended cultural boundaries, leaving the audience captivated.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards and recognitions, honouring exceptional achievements in various fields. The event served as a platform to celebrate talent and diversity, fostering a sense of unity and pride among all.

As the programme concluded, the auditorium resonated with thunderous applause, marking the triumph of togetherness and shared accomplishments.
