Research Day-2025 at Amrita School of Dentistry Call for integrating research into clinical practice

Mysuru: Amrita School of Dentistry marked its third Annual Research Day, centring around the theme ‘Oral Health: Bench to Chair – Evidence Matters.’

The event brought together faculty members, students and distinguished guests to emphasise the role of research in advancing oral healthcare.

Dr. P.R. Harikrishna Varma, Acting Director of Biomedical Wing, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum, highlighted the importance of integrating research into clinical practice.

Dr. J. Chandrashekar, Research Head, School of Dentistry, presented a progress report on the area of research.

Dr. Balagopal Varma, Principal, Amrita School of Dentistry, underscored the school’s commitment to fostering a robust research culture.

In recognition of academic excellence, faculty members, UG and PG students and Ph.D scholars were felicitated for their research contributions. The event also saw a series of competitions aimed at encouraging research and intellectual engagement.

A Research Idea Incubator provided a platform for students to present innovative ideas, while a Debate Competition sparked discussions on the roles of researchers and clinicians in shaping healthcare.

A Scientific Poster Competition featured 72 participants showcasing their research findings. Additionally, a Table Clinic exhibition demonstrated key research and clinical advancements and a Quiz Competition tested participants’ knowledge across various domains. Creativity took centre stage in a Reel Making Competition, where participants visually depicted the “Journey of a Researcher.”
