MLA launches works at Nanjangud where minorities reside

Nanjangud: Nanjangud MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan has said that the Government has sanctioned Rs. 5 crore for the roads and other development works in the areas across Nanjangud taluk where the minority communities live.

Development works of about Rs. 1.6 crore have been launched at Hullahalli, Haginavalu and Hallare roads where minorities reside. Thanking Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed for the grants after performing guddali puja for development works, MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan said Zameer Ahmed has sanctioned a grant of Rs. 5 crore from his Dept. for the development of roads out of which Rs.1.60 crore has been released in the first phase.

“To fulfil the demands of Hullahalli, Hallare and Haginavalu villagers, road development works worth Rs. 25 lakh each have been launched. Since Hullahalli is a big village, priority has been given to the development of its roads. Works connecting the Hura, Kadajatti and Jalahalli will be executed at a cost of Rs. 6 crore under Central Road Fund (CRF). In addition, an amount of Rs. 2 crore has been reserved for building a new PU College at Hullahalli and with additional grants, the college building will be completed in the near future,” said the MLA.

Continuing, he said that apart from this, a Rs. 50 lakh grant under SCP-STP is in the process of calling tenders and the works will be launched soon. Road development works which provides connectivity to First Grade College, Government Hospital and Agriculture Department offices will also begin shortly.

The CM has released grants for road connectivity between Hullahalli-Nanjangud-Santhemaralli under K-Ship programme as announced in the State budget and the work will start soon, he added and concluded by saying that works at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh has been started for the extended development works of Adishakti Temple at Huchhagani village and road development works worth Rs. 30 lakh have been taken up in Debur village under SEP in the areas where Pourakarmikas and                                           Handijogis reside.
