 ‘Raaga Tarangini’ music programme tomorrow

Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat, Mysuru District Unit in association with Bluemind Solutions Private Limited, will be organising ‘Raaga Tarangini’ music programme at Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road in city tomorrow (May 15) from 5 pm, said Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat District Unit President Nagaraj V. Bairy.

Speaking to media persons at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, he said the programme would feature sitar recital and rendition of Dasavani.

The programme will be inaugurated by Department of Kannada and Culture Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy. Senior Journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar, Classical vocal artiste M.L. Bharathi, social worker Dr. Raghuram Vajpayee will be the chief guests. This will be followed by sitar recital by C.S. Vedashri.

Later, Ukkunda Rajesh Padiyar and Hamsini will present a vocal concert. They will be accompanied by Purushotham on keyboard, Vishwanath on mandolin, Ramesh Dhannur and Sujendra on tabla, Vinay Rangadhol on rhythm pad.

Nagaraj Bairy also announced that the Parishat would be conducting a two-day Sugama Sangeetha camp on May 17 and 18 at Anangeshwara Bhavan located at KHB Colony in Hootagalli. The camp will be conducted under the supervision of B.V. Srinivas of Ede Thumbi Haaduvenu-fame and well-known sugama sangeetha artiste Nagachandrika Bhat.
