Madikeri: Srimangala Police have arrested a man for shooting and injuring two brothers over a property dispute. The incident took place at Belluru village in Ponnampet taluk yesterday evening and the accused was arrested in the night.

While the injured brothers are 43-year-old Balera Sachin and 35-year-old Balera Roshan of Belluru village, the accused has been identified as Balera Timson, who is a relative of the two brothers.

It is learnt that there was a dispute in the family over a property which resulted in Timson allegedly firing on Sachin and Roshan with a gun. While Sachin suffered a bullet wound on his thigh, Roshan has sustained injuries near his neck. The injured were given first-aid at a hospital in Gonikoppa and were later shifted to Mysuru for further treatment.

Srimangala Police, who visited the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and finally arrested accused Timson yesterday night in Belluru village besides seizing the gun used for the crime.
