Mysuru: ‘Champaka Rashtreeya Kalaa Utsava,’ the monthly cultural flagship event of Champaka Educational and Cultural Trust, Mysuru, celebrated the ‘Chaitra’ edition on Chaitra Bahula Shashthi recently at the Academy premises in Ramakrishnanagar.
The Utsava started with Bharatanatyam performance by disciples of Vidu. Preeti Venkatramu trained ably at her institution Nritya Gangotri School of Dance, Mysuru.
The team of about 10 students performed Pushpanjali, Natesha Kavitvam, Aigiri Nandini, Tillana and more. The neat and attractive presentation of the young artistes captivated the audience.
Next performance was by Vidu. Sindhu Niranjan, Founder of Nritya Vyapini Kala Samsthe in Mysuru and her disciples. The team was complemented by Vidu. N. Sindhu of Sri Samskriti Centre of Performing Arts, Mysuru. Vidu. Sindhu danced with immense energy for the famous Narasimha Kavitvam. The team’s presentation of Bhavayami Raghuramam, beautifully portrayed some of the Ramayana sequences with appealing abhinaya by Sindhu Niranjan.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Dr. K. Ganesh, Principal of Sapient College, spoke about the importance of not allowing the next generation to forget our roots and our culture. He applauded the thought behind Champaka Rashtreeya Kalaa Utsava and the sustained efforts of artistes.
All participants were acknowledged with an appreciation certificate at the end of the event.
