Sagara: H.M. Shivanand (70), retd. Professor of Commerce Department, BTCG College, Somwarpet, Kodagu and a part-time reporter of Prajavani, former President of Somwarpet Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat, passed away at his residence in Sagara, Shivamogga, this morning.

He leaves behind his wife, son Sachin (disciple of late Sarod Maestro Rajeev Taranath and a Chartered Accountant) and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at Sagara this afternoon.
