233rd Sandal Urus Shariff of Hazarath Tipu Sultan Shaheed held

Mysuru: The 233rd Annual Sandal Urus Shariff of Hazarath Tipu Sultan Shaheed organised by Mysore City (Dist.) Hazarath Tippu Sultan Shaheed Urus & Welfare Committee, Tippu Hall, Meena Bazar, was held at Meelad Bagh on Ashoka Road in city on May 27.

The programme was held under  the supervision of Sir Qazi of Mysuru Hazarath Moulana Mohd. Usman Shariff Saheb and under the Presidentship of MLA Tanveer Sait. The programme began with recital of verses from the Holy Quran (Qirath) by social worker Ismail Ameen and followed by planting of a sapling at Meelad Bagh by MLA Tanveer Sait.

Historian Prof. Nanjaraje Urs, M.F. Kaleem of Responsible Citizen Voice, Mysuru, High Court Advocate M.S. Mukram, Hazarath Sufi Wali Ba of Bengaluru and others spoke on Tipu Sultan regime.

Hazarath Tippu Sultan Shaheed Urus & Welfare Committee Secretary Afroz Pasha honoured MLA Tanveer Sait, Lashkar and Mandi Police Inspectors and staff for their yeomen services for providing Police bandobust by presenting memento and shawl.

Jameel Ahmed Ashrafi of Golden Palace Convention Centre, Majeed Ahmed of Sagar Cement, Hazarath Sufi Khwaja Azeem Ali Chishti, Toufiq Majeed Khan, Mohammed Ameen, Syed Farooq, Organizing Secretary of KPCC Minority Department Showkath Ali Khan, KPCC Co-ordinator, Mohammed Rafi, Dr. Dawood Iqbal, Khwaja Mohammed Musheer Chishti, President of Chishtiya Foundation Group, Radiulla Khan and a large number of devotees from various places took part.

Mirza Jamsheed Baig Ashrafi, Spokeperson of DCC Minority Department anchored the programme and proposed vote of thanks. Later, MLA Tanveer Sait carried the sandal paste vessel and lead the procession along with Fukras, Jamath (Duff), devotees, well wishers which passed via Ashoka Road to reach Tipu Circle, from where the procession reached Masjid Aala in Srirangapatna and joined the procession of Tipu Sultan Wakf Estate at 6 pm.
