Folk scholar Rajappa passes away

Mysuru: T.S. Rajappa (83), a folk scholar, retired researcher and a resident of Kuvempunagar, passed away following age related illness at a private hospital in city yesterday.

He leaves behind his wife Nagamani, three sons and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at Veerashaiva Burial Grounds at Vidyaranyapuram this afternoon, according to family sources.

Rajappa, who had served as a researcher in Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies for 30 years had authored over 30 literary works. He was conferred with ‘Janapada Tajna’ award  by the State Government and was the President of the Mysuru District-level 17th Sahitya Sammelana which was held at Nanjangud on Mar. 1.
