Mysuru: The Yoga Dasara Sub-Committee has planned several events as part of Yoga Dasara on three different days from Sept. 21.
Yoga Dasara Sub-Committee Special Officer and MCC Commissioner G. Jagadeesha said at a meeting in DC Office yesterday that ‘Yoga Dasara’ will be inaugurated by District In-charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa by flagging off ‘Yoga Jyothi Nadige’ on Sept. 21 at 6 am. Yoga enthusiasts from four directions of the city — Mathru Mandali Circle in V.V. Puram, Durga Parameshwari Temple in Ittigegud, Ganabharathi in Kuvempunagar and Shankar Mutt in Agrahara — will converge at Oval Grounds where a mega Yoga Show will be staged.
‘Yogothsava,’ a mass yoga show will be held at 6 am on Sept. 24 in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, he said and added that a State-level Yoga Championship will be held from 9 am to 4 pm the same day. The participants should perform any two asanas of their choice in the competition. Cash prizes of Rs. 2,000, Rs. 1,500 and Rs. 1,000 will be given for the best performers.
‘Yoga Charana’ will be held with yoga enthusiasts climbing Chamundi Hill on Sept. 26 at 6 am and performing of Durga Namaskara atop the Hill.
