Mysuru: JK Tyre Badali Mathu Dinagooli Karmikara Kshemabhivrudhi Sangha has accused the management of JK Tyre of practicing anti-labour attitude, by mentally and physically harassing the badali workers, in clear violation of Labour Court order.
Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavana in the city yesterday, Indiresh Hon. President of JK Tyre Badali Mathu Dinagooli Karmikara Kshemabhivrudhi Sangha, alleged that, those workers who were reinstated in service, following the Court order preceding five-year long struggle, are being subjected to harassment. The workers had been shown doors for the only reason of forming an association. It was only after the Labour Court called it as ‘anti-labour’ move, they were taken back to work.
Those workers are being allotted jobs that won’t match with their physical ability. Even those aged above 50 years are forced to lift tyres weighing 50 kg to 60 kg up to four feet. The deliberate motive behind this is to coerce them to quit the job on their own.
The Department of Labour, Labour Court and Karnataka State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC) should intervene and provide justice to the labourers, demanded Indiresh.
