E-Swathu: Two MCC officials caught accepting bribe

Mysuru: Two officials of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) were caught red-handed last evening by the Lokayukta Police while accepting a bribe to process a complainant’s application for E-Swathu property ownership documents.

According to a statement issued by Lokayukta Superintendent of Police T.J. Udesh, the complainant approached the Lokayukta Police and alleged that Revenue Officer M.N. Nandeesh and Bill Collector Razak of Zone 4 MCC Office were demanding a bribe of Rs. 25,000 to process his e-Swathu application.

The complainant had submitted his application at the Zonal Office, after which the two officials allegedly demanded the bribe. Acting on the complaint, Lokayukta officials laid a trap and caught both officials red-handed while accepting the amount.

The operation was led by SP T.J. Udesh and involved Inspectors P. Umesh, Lokesh and Ravikumar, along with staff members R.N. Lokesh, H.N. Gopi, Lokesh Raje Urs, Kantharaju, Mohan Gowda, Mohan Kumar, Lokesh and Dinesh.
