Mysuru: MLC K. Vivekananda from South Teachers Constituency has written a letter to Minister of School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa voicing his disapproval about the notice given to high schools which have recorded less than 60 percent results in SSLC examinations.
In the letter, the MLC stated that the Minister should have consulted the High School Managements, Head Masters of High Schools and MLCs elected from Teachers Constituencies.
“Before issuing the notice the Minister should have understood the limitations of teachers, as teachers had to do a lot of other works like egg distribution, assisting in mid-day meals among others in addition to teaching. Apart from this they are supposed to follow various instructions given by several Department officials which are sometimes contradictory,” said MLC Vivekananda while explaining the plight of teachers.
Wondering whether it is right for the Minister to expect good results after giving so much load to teachers, the MLC has urged Minister Madhu Bangarappa to immediately convene a meeting of all stakeholders and take a decision.
