RSS cannot be banned: BJP Spokesperson

July 1, 2025

Mysuru: Lashing out at  RDPR and IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge for his tweet that the Congress would ban the RSS if it came to power at the Centre, BJP Spokesperson M.G. Mahesh said that the RSS cannot be banned even if Priyank gets a rebirth.

Addressing a press meet at the BJP Office in Chamarajapuram here this morning, Mahesh said that the Congress, which had long been in power post-independence, had banned the RSS three times, only to rescind it later. Strongly condemning the hatred the Congress has for RSS, Mahesh alleged that CM Siddaramaiah, who often boasts himself as a champion of backward classes, has in fact done little for the backward sections.

“Siddaramaiah in no way equals late former CM Devaraj Urs either in administration or giving benefits to backward classes.  Siddaramaiah has sidelined every leader who brought him to the Congress. The CM is only enacting dramas before the backward classes only to save his chair which is now under threat,” he said adding that while Siddaramaiah boasts of providing free rice, which in fact is supplied by the Centre, Devaraj Urs brought in revolutionary land reforms and gave rice growing lands to the landless.

Pointing out that Siddaramaiah has not given any political representation to as many as 106 marginalised and micro communities of the State, Mahesh charged the CM of trying to finish off other OBC leaders in the Congress through his political manoeuvres.

District (Rural) BJP President K.N. Subbanna and Party leaders were present at the        press meet.
