July 2, 2025

Mysore/Mysuru: Krishnaraja (KR) Police have arrested one person for allegedly brandishing a machete (long) in a broad daylight and have launched a search for another person. The KR Police, who came across a video of the incident on social media, traced the accused and arrested one of the two accused.

The incident is said to have occurred on Uttaradi Mutt Road on Saturday and the Police, who had registered a suo moto case, swung into action and arrested Dinesh, Manager of a security agency. The Police have launched a search for another, identified as a security guard, who had fought with Dinesh.

A fight broke out between the security guard and the Manager over non-payment of salary for two months. During the fight, the security guard picked up the machete used to cut weeds which was lying in the corner of the road and rushed towards the Manager but did not make an attempt to assault him using the weapon.

Meanwhile, those present there, snatched the machete from the security guard and kept it aside only to be picked up by the Manager. But neither the Manager nor the security guard attempted to assault each other using the weapon, it is said.

But still brandishing the weapon and creating fear among the public is unlawful and the Police, taking note of it registered a case and have initiated legal action, Police sources said.
