Mysuru: Prof. N.K. Lokanath, Vice-Chancellor of University of Mysore (UoM), inaugurated the newly constructed swimming pool at Nypunya School of Excellence campus in Kanakadasanagar (Dattagalli) here recently.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that compared to the past decades, at the primary education level, it is essential to provide facilities and amenities to encourage childhood activities along with academic learning and added that educational institutions are compelled to bear this responsibility.

In this regard, Nypunya School of Excellence’s resolve to build a good swimming pool in its campus, provide opportunities for children to learn swimming and encourage them to become sports achievers is truly commendable, Prof. Lokanath said.

School campus has two types of well-equipped swimming pools for children aged 3 to 17 to engage in swimming lessons. After school, children from outside will also be allowed to learn swimming, said the School Chairman.
