Dr. Karl Krupp (70), Founding Member of Primary Health Research Institute of India (PHRII), Mysuru and a resident of Yadavagiri, passed away on July 10 at Arizona in USA.
Dr. Krupp was a mentor and guide to many. He began his career studying childhood asthma in the US and for the past 15 years, he worked in India on key public health issues affecting vulnerable communities including HIV, maternal health, cervical cancer, vaccine hesitancy, heart disease and aging.
He leaves behind his wife Dr. Poornima Madhivanan, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were held at Arizona yesterday (July 11), according to sources.
