Free transport service for KPS students

Bengaluru:  Students of Karnataka Public Schools (KPS), from LKG to II PUC, will be provided with free transport service in Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses, said Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar here yesterday.

In a tweet on ‘X’ platform, Shivakumar mentioned that the decision was taken to strengthen the Government school, increase the student attendance and quality. 

Stating that the State Govt. had taken this decision to ensure students from economically weaker section get access to education and grow economically, he said it would also help in the empowerment of Government schools. 

Shivakumar also mentioned, the State Government through ‘Shakti’ scheme had been providing free bus services to women which has been successful.
