Congress groups argue over MLA’s missing photograph

July 15, 2025

Mysore/Mysuru: A disagreement among Congress party workers marred the launch event of ‘Dhwani Spandana’, as tensions flared over the absence of Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgowda’s photo on the event’s flex banners.

Supporters of Harishgowda, who represents the Constituency where the event took place, expressed anger, arguing that as the local MLA and expected chairperson of the event, his photograph should have been prominently featured on the banners.

In defence, other Congress members clarified that displayed banners were privately arranged and not issued by the Government. They noted that objections would have been valid only if official Government banners had omitted the MLA’s image.

As the verbal altercation between the two factions escalated, the Police had to step in to pacify the groups and restore order.
