Mysore/Mysuru: The District Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Kannada Chaluvali Kendra Samiti jointly organised a Shraddanjali programme in memory of K.B. Ganapathy (KBG), Founder-Editor of Star of Mysore and Mysuru Mithra, who passed away on July 13. The event was held at Pathrakarthara Bhavan in city on July 21.
Parishat President Maddikere Gopal, Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) President K. Deepak, social worker Pushpa Iyengar, advocate Shivaprakash, Mysuru Mithra columnist G.L. Tripurantaka and Kannada Chaluvali Samiti President Muguru Nanjundaswamy offered floral tributes to KBG’s portrait and shared their personal memories and experiences.
Muguru Nanjundaswamy, also Founder-Editor of Kannada weekly ‘Kannada Belaku,’ recalled his long-standing association with KBG in the field of journalism. He urged the MCC to name a Circle in Bannimantap after K.B. Ganapathy, as the offices and printing press of Star of Mysore and Mysuru Mithra are located in the area. “If MCC fails to act, I will personally install a nameboard at a major Circle in KBG’s honour,” he declared.
