Internationally renowned Bharatanatyam guru from Mysuru, Dr. K. Kumar, has been selected to receive the prestigious international ‘Acharya Kala Saakara’ award by Griffin College, London, at the award ceremony to be held tomorrow (July 25) at TAG P.S. Dakshinamurthy Auditorium in Chennai. This institution is the first Indian Fine Arts Examination Board recognised by the United Kingdom Awards Authority and is committed to the promotion and preservation of Indian classical arts. A recipient of the Karnataka Kalashree award, Dr. K. Kumar has served as a Professor and Head of the Department of Dance at the University College of Fine Arts, University of Mysore.
