Mysore/Mysuru: Kumar Performing Arts Centre, Mysuru, is organising the 58th International Nirantara Kalemane Festival on July 27 at its Kalemane Sabhaangana in Hebbal.

As part of this celebration, the ‘5th International Nirantara Kalemane Bharatanatyam Dance Competition’ will also be held.

The competition will be inaugurated at 9 am by distinguished dance gurus —  Divya Prashanth, Mysuru;  Bhagya Jyothi, Shivamogga;  Angel Rashmi D’Souza, Kushalnagar; Vidwan B. Girish Kumar, Puttur;  Vidwan P. Uday Kumar, Bengaluru and Vidwan N. Manjunath, Mangaluru.

At the valedictory ceremony to take place at 4 pm, five distinguished individuals from various fields will be honoured with “Kalemane Kalashree” award, followed by distribution of prizes to winners of the competition.

The awardees are District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal – Literature and Social Service; B. Balakrishnayya – Education; Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota President M. Chandrashekar – Literature and Social Service; M.S. Basavanna – Photo-Journalism and Nani Hebbalu – Photo-Journalism.
