Pramoda Devi to open Inter-State Bridge Championship on Aug. 1

Mysore/Mysuru: An Inter-State Bridge Championship will be held from Aug. 1 to 5 at Mysore Race Club in city, said Mysuru District Bridge Association President H.N. Jayapal.

Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan in city, Jayapal said that the Championship will be inaugurated by the erstwhile Mysore royal family member Pramoda Devi Wadiyar on Aug. 1 at 1 pm. The championship matches will be held from 7 am to 7.30 pm till Aug. 5.

Players from various States will be participating, Jayapal said adding that those selected in this event will be representing the country in international championship.

Bridge game is played using playing cards, which helps in mental development besides helping students score more marks in mathematics.

Association office-bearers Umapathi and Dr. Puttabasappa were present at the press meet.
